Mama said The Women of the Earth will Roam and carry with them the rivers, the suns, and secrets of the seas. Victoria McKenzie holds still in the breathing of this, she walks strong through Words and requests that all have the knowledge of the epistemological twitter that is Cher. Victoria works with images, literature, electronic music, and ‘moving’ installations. Hers is the mysticism that seeps in spaces of silence, spaces of words, spaces that formulate the ‘movements’. She is fascinated by “space” and “silence” and how this shapes and creates our current culture and society; and in turn how we create from ourselves inside these spaces. Born on a mountain in Jamaica and raised in the fields of Scotland, Victoria lives in Toronto, Canada questioning the ‘movements’ of living and the constructs of the human soul. She and Cher alike.
