JULIE BROUSSEAU

Julie is a Québécoise francophone, raised in La Prairie, South Shore of Montreal. Julie has always been interested in other cultures, language,s and the arts. She has developed a particular interest for cinema and Japanese culture while in high school, and decided to continue on that exploration at the post-secondary level. Julie is currently enrolled in the Film Studies at the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema at Concordia, while working on different types of film projects – both fiction and documentary – outside of her studies. Julie would like to eventually contribute to the organization of film festivals and teach cinema to Cegep-level students. She also love animals. Like, a lot. Future alternative career: crazy dog lady, perhaps?

Julie directed and filmed Coffin Nails, a short film made in collaboration with friend Brent Horne, which won third prize and People's Choice at the AmérAsia Film Festival in 2014.
